The Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) is honored to have hosted Mr. Firas Raad, the new World Bank Country Manager, on a courtesy call to our Director General, Dr. Edington Chilapondwa. This visit highlights the significance of collaboration and partnerships in driving economic growth and development in Malawi.

Strengthening Good Governance
The World Bank's expertise and support are vital in helping Malawi achieve its good governance goals, as outlined in the Malawi 2063 (MW2063) development strategy. Specifically, in public procurement and asset disposal, the World Bank is supporting the National Digitalization efforts through the implementation of the electronic Government Procurement (eGP) system.

Enhancing Transparency and Efficiency
The eGP system, currently under installation with World Bank support, will significantly enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in public procurement. We appreciate the World Bank's technical and financial assistance in making this initiative a reality.

Looking Forward to Further Collaboration
The PPDA looks forward to continued collaboration and harnessing synergies with the World Bank to drive progress in public procurement and asset disposal. Together, we can achieve more and contribute to Malawi's development agenda.
